Autumn Day Retreat at Southcombe Barn
🍁AUTUMN DAY RETREAT

🔥Yoga | Seasonal Soup & Sourdough | Fire Cider Making Workshop
🧅Sunday 26th October, 10am - 3pm
🌶️£60 + optional sauna for an additional £15 (3.30pm - 4.30pm)
As the nights draw and we fully step into autumn, we are delighted to host a special day retreat at Southcombe Barn that will support and resource you for the cooler, darker months ahead.
The day will begin with an embodied yoga workshop hosted by Dartmoor based teacher Harriet Herb. We’ll focus on tools and techniques to sooth your nervous system and resource your immune system, finishing with an extended guided relaxation.
Lunch will be a hearty and healthy soup made with organic, local vegetables with sourdough from @wearebriarbakery
Totnes based herbalist Mariam, from Radical Plant Folk, will then guide a Fire Cider Workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own immune tonic to help you fight off colds and flus over the winter.
Fire Cider is a warming tonic made with vinegar and a mix of herbs and spices, many of which you can find in your own kitchen. In this workshop we will be delving into the medicinal properties of each herb and then have the chance to get creative and make your own combinations. We will be using a mix of herbs and roots grown in the herb garden alongside kitchen herbs like onion, garlic, ginger etc.
For those of you wanting to extend the day and heat up from the inside out, you can pay an additional £15 to use the gorgeous wood fired sauna (and optional cold plunge!)

Plant Club Autumn Series
Autumn evening gatherings, engaging with the land as a living art studio
Tuesdays, 6-8pm, starting 16th September
Based at Radical Plant Folk's beautiful community garden at School Farm, Dartington, these autumn evening sessions are an opportunity to see what happens when we engage with the land as a living art studio, an everchanging outdoor space for creativity and collaboration.
A space to be together, with each other, with plants and with other ecologies, to draw, write or make inspired by the land, or to work on whatever creative project you'd like to bring along. There are fire pits and covered spaces for when the days get chilly!
We will open and close each session with a circle space, to meet and greet each other where we're at, to share what we might be working on or what we've enjoyed, and to establish a contained space.
Though we will loosely facilitate, these are not taught sessions and ideally you'll be coming either with an existing creative practice of your own, or the desire to (re)start one. We will offer a few creative prompts as invitations, in case you need a bit more direction, and depending on the session there may be small demos or sharings of land-based crafts.
Tuesday evenings, 6-8pm
16th / 23rd / 30th September & 7th / 14th / 21st October
