As part of our community medicine making autumn/winter series
Join us as we make healing remedies with herbs grown, harvested and dried from the garden and local lands. We will make remedies to take home, but also meet plants in the garden, taste the herbs in tea and learn about how we can take care of ourselves and others during this season.
Workshops take place at our community herb garden for September and October, we will then move indoors come November.
About the workshop:
In this workshop you will learn how to make your very own herbal cough syrup. We will be digging up elecampane and marshmallow roots from the herb beds. Two herbs that are particularly supportive to the respiratory system and learn more about their properties and how we can properly prepare root medicines. We will also learn about other herbs growing in the garden like thyme, hyssop and fennel, amongst others that we can take for coughs. You will learn different ways to prepare cough syrups using honey, glycerine and sugar. There will be lots to try and you will get to go home with your bottle of cough syrup for the winter months ahead.
Ticket price:
Concessions/unwaged/low waged: £15
Standard price: £25
Please note that as we are a small social enterprise we cannot offer refunds on tickets. In the event that you have to cancel and on the basis that we can sell your ticket we can offer a refund or offer you a ticket place on a later date.
