About us
The herb garden at School Farm is a space to teach, inspire and connect people to the healing power of plants and nature. We are committed to creative, accessible land-based education and community wellbeing.
At the core of our work is a community herbalism project and a living garden where people can learn directly from the plants. We are passionate about folk herbal and traditional plant knowledge and practices, and create spaces to share and restore this knowledge. Lots of our work centres around growing, harvesting, and making herbal remedies in community, from seed all the way up to remedy.
We began in 2021 as a small volunteer programme led by our founder and community/folk herbalist Mariam Salah. We have since grown our team and now offer a popular Saturday community gardening group, year-long workshop programme, creative plant club sessions, herbal wellbeing workshops for global majority and people of colour, opens days and group visits.
We are a social enterprise and generate income from tickets sales from our courses and events. So every time you buy a ticket you are supporting our community garden and herbalism project.
