Join us for a 2.5 hour workshop exploring the medicinal properties and energetics of spring-time plants through our senses and make your own remedy to take home. The workshop will be led by community herbalist and medical herbalist trainee Mariam Mohamed.
The session will include a guided sensory walk around the garden meeting various herbs and learning about their traditional uses, folklore and medicinal properties. Mariam will lead a guided tea tasting session followed by sharing and discussions on seasonal energetics and how herbs are experienced in the body. We will then learn how to prepare a herbal oxymel, a traditional remedy combining herbs with vinegar and honey. We will gather the herbs fresh from the garden and return to the outdoor kitchen where Mariam will lead us into the medicine making process. You will get to go home with the recipes and 2 jars.
